Model Mayhem part deux

This young lady's name is Cali, she is the second model that showed up on Saturday. I have nothing but good things to say about the two models, and Cali was very professional.

Model Mayhem Shoot part une

These are shots from a photo shoot that I did yesterday. Only two models showed up due to a high chance of snow, and they didn't want to chance driving from Kansas City and back. Luckily this young lady, Olivia, is one of them that showed up. Olivia is the daughter of one of the members from the photo club and she could not have done any better of a job.

Abandoned

It has been kind of an internet trend for photographers to go and shoot ran down, abandoned buildings, so this is my first attempt at seeking a building out. I saw these people demolishing this building on the outer limits of downtown St. Joe. I have went back a couple of different times but no matter if it's Sunday morning or Friday nights there was always someone there working on it. I finally found the property alone on a Monday afternoon, so this must be their weekend project.

I didn't go inside or anything since I was alone (with just my usual golf club) and there is a homeless camp just a couple of hundred feet away that had pillars of smokes coming from the multiple fires they had lit. While walking to my car a group of homeless people rode up behind the building where I was parked and dismounted from the bikes they had come on. Luckily they were just set on getting to their camp.

I wish I had photography friends :( I would like to have someone with me on shoots like this so I could explore inside a little more. Yeah friends would help.... or a pistol.

Headless

Here are two more from my experiments with light this week. I'm not sure which one I like more so I'll post them both even though they are practically the same picture. Aside from light painting I have also been painting with light... if that makes any sense. I have done a few using the technique of Eric William Curry, I am not quite ready to show the major ones I have been working on, but his is just a mini project I did where I took a 30 second exposure and ran a light across my face to get the details, I then took a flood light and his the chair I was sitting in to make it look like my head was floating.

No Smokin'

This month's project for the photo club is "painting with light"(not excited) So the next few posts will probably have something to do with that.
Thank You For Smokin'
This was taken with a 30 second exposure lighting my face with an LED light. I then created the "cross out" with a lighter to keep with the smoking theme. I then coughed for 30 minutes from the smoke.

I'm Dying, and Melodramatic

I've had the flu the last few days causing me to not shoot any new photos, write posts, or... wake up. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this yet but I also started a 365 project at the beginning of the year (I don't know where I will post these, maybe Flickr), but now there is going to be three pictures in a row of things such as me wrapped in a snuggie with my head in a toilet. So today I'm posting a picture of my wonderful caregiver that was taken back in October.

BEARable Goes Country

These are random pictures taken on a drive I took on some gravel roads in the country.

This is a cow.
 Red on Barn

The people that own this barn let their dogs loose to bark at me continuously while I taking this picture.

Plaza on Bulb

Plaza on Bulb
This was another one taken for my camera club meeting this month for the holiday/ winter theme. It's amazing how many people come up and ask you about your photography and to see your shots when you have a foot long metal wire with a christmas tree ornament tied one one end and ducked taped to your lens. I then had to plant my tripod on the only flat part of the center lane, leaving me in the bushes.

Ol' Lonely Night

Ol' Lonely Night

This was taken at my University....no, it is not just a coincidence, I take many photos there. I was the only one on campus due to the winter break and it being a Saturday. This is right as it was in the thick of the snow so my camera got nice and wet. It was actually fairly late in the night and was pitch black out, the light background was due to a huge amount of light pouring from buildings on the opposite side of the hill and with some help from saturation. The tree still has many visible details due to, you guessed it, HDR.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all. I hope your year was just as enjoyable as mine was, minus the homework and hangovers. For this New Year's Day all I have is this random picture that has nothing to do with ringing in the new year.

Coyote Night

This Picture was taken at my university one night and I had to park up by those lights in the mid-left of this photo. I then had to walk around the pond to get this shot. MWSU has a large biology and conservation department so they have a lot of these natural ponds with woods surrounding them, but you know who likes woods and ponds more than biologists and conservationists? Foxes and other rabid dogs that would like to eat my face. This was one of the longest 30 second exposure ever because by the time I had my tripod set up I started hearing howling fairly close. This is about the third experience that I have been someplace at night in a wooded area and have heard a howl.I now take a golf club with me when I go shooting at night, in case a wolf(or crazy downtown man) wants to take my face off.
